Ford Plans to Produce 2 Million Electric Vehicles Annually

Ford F-150 Lightning Electric Pickup Truck

The electrification of the automotive industry is well underway. Throughout Ford’s long and celebrated history, the automaker has blazed paths for others to follow. This holds true today as it progresses through a bold transition. Specifically, Ford has announced that it will produce more than two million electric vehicles per year by 2026. This represents a 10-percent adjustment to its profit margin that year.

The extensive restructuring that is taking place in Ford’s line is already in the works. It sold 64,000 Mustang Mach-E crossover SUVs in 2021. To reach its lofty goal, Ford plans to release other all-electric models over the next few years. One of these is an all-electric version of the popular F-150 pickup truck known as the Ford F-150 Lightning. To accommodate the electrification of its lineup, Ford is reorganizing its operations into different units for the production of internal combustion engine models and electric motor models. This news was well-received by Ford’s investors. In fact, on the day of the announcement, stock shares rose by 8.4 percent.
