2024 Ford Expedition vs 2023 Ford Expedition

Serving White Hall, WV

The Expedition is the largest of Ford's three-row SUVs, and it combines its spacious, well-appointed cabin with exceptional features and impressive capabilities. In 2018, the fourth generation launched with bold updates, and several additional improvements have been made each year since that time. The 2023 and 2024 Expedition are mid-generation Expedition models that have many shared traits. However, there are also significant differences to learn about before making your next SUV selection.

Performance

The Expedition is powerfully engineered, with three distinctive powertrains available across its trim levels. The entry-level engine is a V6, 3.0-liter turbo engine mated to a 10-speed auto transmission, producing 380 horsepower. An upgraded V6 engine that generates 440 horsepower is also available. The trims with this engine also have an off-road suspension, low-range gearing, a heavy-duty radiator, and a limited-slip electronic differential. There is also a 400-horsepower V6 system that adds an adaptive suspension. With this powertrain, you can upgrade your Expedition with a sports suspension, which is available in the Stealth Performance package.

Appearance

A few minor updates to the 2024 Ford Expedition are found on the exterior. These include the new Wild Green body paint color, front tow hooks, and the optional Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow package. The body style and other features are unchanged between the 2023 and 2024 Expedition. The style features a rectangular grille, squared-off headlamps, a tall roof, and a thin pinstripe across the sides. Depending on which Expedition trim you prefer, your new Ford SUV may also have power running boards, up to 22-inch wheels, all-terrain tires, two-tone paint, a panoramic sunroof, and a power liftgate.

Features

There are also two changes to the features in the Expedition for the 2024 model year. These are a complimentary Connected Navigation subscription for 12 months and USB-C ports in the second row. The other standard and optional features across the Expedition's trim levels are unchanged. Some of these features are adaptive cruise control, a keyless ignition, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, a 12-inch or larger infotainment system screen, rear-row power-folding seats, second-row captain's chairs, driver's seat memory settings, heated seats in the first two rows, a surround-view camera, a wireless charging station, a blind-spot alert, leather upholstery, wireless connectivity for the smart device apps and a three-zone auto climate management system.
