What's New for the 2024 Ford Expedition?
The full-size Ford Expedition introduced its fourth generation in 2018, and numerous upgrades have been made since that time. With its robust capabilities, engaging design, and extensive selection of premium features, this SUV has only a few modest changes for the 2024 model year. On the Expedition's exterior, a few small aesthetic changes are introduced. In addition, Wild Green is a new body color, and both the Heavy-Duty Trailer Tow package and front hooks are available for the higher trim levels. Other aspects of the style are unchanged. The tall cabin is accentuated on the sides with a long pinstripe running from end to end. At the front, the grille and the LED headlights are rectangular to continue the Expedition's commanding design. You can choose between long and standard wheelbases. Some of the 2024 model year's exterior features are a power liftgate, a panoramic sunroof, all-terrain tires, dual-tone paint, up to 22-inch wheels, and powered running boards.
The only significant change to the interior of the 2024 Ford Expedition is second-row USB-C charging ports and the availability of Connected Navigation service at no cost for 12 months. Across the trim levels, the Ford Expedition continues to have a surround-view camera, memory settings for the driver's seat, a wireless charging pad, heated seats for the first and second rows, captain's chairs for the second row, a Bang & Olufsen audio system, adaptive cruise control, leather upholstery, a three-zone climate control system, power-folding seats in the third row, wireless connections for the smart device apps, a keyless ignition, a blind-spot alert, lane keeping and a 12-inch touch display screen or larger.
The Ford Expedition continues to be built on a sturdy truck frame with three powertrains available. A V6, 3.5-liter turbo engine, and a 10-speed auto transmission produce 380 horsepower for the first couple of trims. Mid-level trims feature an enhanced V6 engine that delivers 440 horsepower. With this engine, the Expedition may also be equipped with a heavy-duty radiator, a limited-slip electronic differential, low-range gearing, and an off-road suspension. If you choose one of the higher trim levels for 2024, your Expedition will come with a V6, 400-horsepower engine with an adaptive suspension. The higher trims are also available with the Stealth Performance package. This package adds a sports suspension system.
