What's New for the 2022 Ford Expedition?
The Expedition is Ford’s full-size SUV that stands up confidently to meet your high expectations in all areas. For 2022, the Expedition is a mid-generation model that introduces several exciting improvements. For example, the interior is now outfitted with a vertically-mounted touch display screen, identical to the one in the Ford Mustang Mach-E. If you opt for the top Expedition Platinum trim level, your SUV will now have hands-free BlueCruise technology. These features are balanced with the many other quality features from the 2021 model year.
You will also enjoy a bold improvement behind the wheel. A high-performance V6 engine is now standard in all trim levels. In most trims, this 3.5-liter engine produces 375 horsepower. However, the Platinum trim enjoys 400 horsepower from it, bumping up to 440 horsepower in the Timberline trim level. Throughout the trim lineup, the Expedition’s powertrain system includes a 10-speed auto transmission and standard rear-wheel drive or optional four-wheel drive. Higher trim levels also have off-road-tuned shock absorbers, an electronic limited-slip differential, a dual exhaust, a heavy-duty radiator, and other equipment.
The base XL trim level for 2022 is a well-appointed option to consider. It offers a wireless hotspot, a push-button starter, keyless entry, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Ford Co-Pilot360 assistive technologies, etc. As you progress up the trim lineup, you will find other standard features like satellite radio, a tri-zone auto climate control system, an auto-dimming rear mirror, power-adjusting driver’s pedals, power-folding seats in the second and third rows, and a heated steering wheel. At the top trim level, you can appreciate upgraded leather upholstery, roof rails with crossbars, active noise cancellation, massaging front seats, wood accents, and other premium features.
